Monday
Welcome back from spring break!
we implemented phone daycare. phones are placed in daycare so they are not a distraction in class. eligibility for daily classwork is contingent on compliance with daycare policies. We worked on linear fit models, and figured out how to draw and find equations for lines of best fit. Homework is to finish up Module 7
Tuesday
We started working on residuals: the difference between expected values and actual values in data sets. Homework is to complete the tables for 3 and 4 in investigation 8
Wednesday no class: early release
Thursday
we learned how to do statistics calculations on the calculator. It is imperative that students have calculators by the time the next test rolls around; they will not be able to do the test in the time allotted if they do not have a calculator
Friday
We almost finished up Module 9. I also showed everyone how to do line of best fit without a TI83 or TI84. it was ugly (one big table, and 18 steps). but that 18 step process is what students will have to do if they do not have a calculator on the test. Homework is 1a and 1b from investigation 9
