Monday:
No School due to MLK Day
Tuesday:
We finished investigation 4. We have tools to solve systems of equations where we can see that one variable did not change between two equations.
Wednesday:
We started Investigation 5. not all systems are set up where one variable does not change, so we learned that we can use multiplication to create an equivalent equation such that one of the variables stays the same between the two equations. (and then we can eliminate it). Homework is problems 3 & 4 from investigation 5
Thursday:
We went over solving systems of equations now that we have all the tools we need to solve any pair of linear equations. Homework is 2 problems from homework packet 40-45
Friday:
We reviewed the possibilities when dealing with systems of linear equations: either zero, one, or infinite solutions. we talked about how to figure out which is the case for a given pair of equations. Homework is to do problems 1 and 2 of investigation 6
